At Kitty Crib, we extend our love and care beyond the shelter walls to several colonies of community cats. Our dedicated volunteers work tirelessly to ensure these colonies are healthy, well-fed, and safe.
These colonies are part of our sterilisation and long-term care program — we focus on stabilising population growth and keeping each group healthy. They're currently under socialisation assessment, so we kindly ask that they not be fed, moved, or disturbed without chatting to us first.
Located just outside of town, the Charka Factory Colony consists of about 21 friendly and playful cats. We visit them weekly, providing meals, treats, medical care, and plenty of affection.
Located on the borders of our town, the Sundowner Lodge Colony consists of about 7 friendly and playful cats and kittens. We visit them occasionally, providing meals, treats, medical care, and plenty of affection as well as socialization for those needed.
A small colony of two cats who live at a local clinic. We help make sure these brothers stay fed, healthy, and well cared for. We're currently documenting their individual stories and will be sharing them soon.
This colony roams the area between the Spur and Sasol, from KFC down to Pick n Pay. We keep a watchful eye on them, helping out with food and care along the way. We're currently documenting their individual stories and will be sharing them soon.
If you've spotted a group of community cats or a stray in need, please reach out — we'll do what we can. You can also help us keep these colonies fed, healthy, and cared for.
